In college, I plan on using my artist talents to major in medical illustration. My series for the 2013-2014 school year was formulated around bone structure. Shutting myself in a closet with just one lamp, I began concentrating on a dramatic contrast. I also positioned the bones in a playful way on the black paper, never showing a full section of the skeleton. I used colored pencils to give a certain detail and control I was searching for in my artwork. As the weeks went on, I slowly began trading the black and gray colored pencils for browns, yellows, and tans to give a more realistic feel to the pieces. Paying just as much attention to positive space, I worked with negative space. The triangular negative spaces in my concentration to juxtapose the curvy skeletal structure.
